Black Friday Offers (2010)

This picture has nothing to do with the post, but I have two beautiful grandkids and I didn't want to miss a chance to show them off.

Over at the Canon Rumors site I started a thread on Retailers “Black Friday” deals on Canon equipment. I figured I’d repeat the information here just in case one of the two or three people who visit this site cares. All information comes from bfads.net.

Target will be offering an SX120 IS for 129.00. That compares to $199 from Adorama.
Sears offering a Pixma 495MP printer for $49.99.

Toys R Us offering a Canon A3100 IS for $99. Compares to Adorama price of $119.

Best Buy will have a Canon T2i with 18-55 IS lens for $799. (Adorama price is $849) Kit with 55-250mm IS zoom and 8GB memory card is $999 . Looks like Adorama price is the same without the memory card.

Powershot SX130 is $179. It’s $199 at Adorama. Powershot SD1400 is $149. Adorama price is $179.

Pixma MP560 printer is $49. It’s $89 at Adorama (this may be the best deal of the bunch)

Fine print under the T2i at Best Buy: guaranteed minimum of six per store.

For Nikon fans, a D3000 for $499 with 18-55 lens and with a 55-200 NON IS lens added in it’s $629. Adorama price for body and 18-55 lens is $496. No bargain there.

Depending on your local sales tax, the T2i price could be worthwhile. You get the instant gratification of getting the camera right away, but you have to get up at 3 a.m. and wait in line for the store to open.

Related observation: it seems as though Canon isn’t pushing the 60D and 7D at big box retailers like Best Buy. Nikon also doesn’t seem to be pushing their upper-end models. Might just be a reflection of where they see the demand, but seems a little surprising to me that I don’t recall seeing any promotions on the 60D.
